One of the most popular routes is the one that runs along the Orbetello Lagoon and leads to the Feniglia Nature Reserve. This 20 km loop through a protected area offers unique landscapes and allows you to explore a zone rich in biodiversity, making it ideal for cyclists of all levels.
Additionally, countless routes start from Orbetello, offering the chance to explore the surrounding areas on both mountain bikes and road bikes. You can head toward Monte Argentario, where MTB trails unveil breathtaking views all the way to the highest point, Punta Telegrafo.
Alternatively, you can delve into history by cycling to Ansedonia and the Archaeological Site of the City of Cosa.

Albegna River and La Marsiliana

Length: 65 km (43 km short route) | Elevation gain: 150 m

The cycling route starts at Forte delle Saline, passes through Albinia, and continues along the banks of the Albegna River, offering an unpaved trail that leads to La Marsiliana, where you can visit the medieval village and its castle.
From Marsiliana, you can head toward Capalbio, famous for its historic center and traditional cuisine, or make your way to Ansedonia, home to the Roman Villa of Settefinestre and significant archaeological remains.
Difficulty: Easy

Length: 75 km | Elevation gain: 550 m

This cycling route begins at Orbetello Scalo and passes through areas rich in history and nature, such as Ansedonia, home to the Roman ruins of the city of Cosa and the Etruscan Canal, and the Lake Burano WWF Nature Reserve. The route continues to the Tarot Garden, a unique artistic park, and the more experienced cyclists can climb to the medieval village of Capalbio, with its breathtaking views.
The return includes the Roman Villa of Settefinestre, offering a journey through art, nature, and archaeology.

Length: 40 km | Elevation gain: 300 m

The cycling path passes through enchanting locations such as the Orbetello lagoons, the Argentario promontory, and the Feniglia Nature Reserve.
It offers breathtaking views of the sea and nature, winding through historic villages like Porto Ercole, with its Spanish fortresses, and Ansedonia.
This itinerary is perfect for immersing yourself in unique landscapes and discovering the authentic beauty of the Maremma.

Monte Argentario

Length: 65 km (45 km short route) | Elevation gain: up to 1500 m

This loop cycling route starts at Forte delle Saline and follows the Strada Provinciale della Giannella, offering panoramic views of the Tuscan coast.
Continuing toward Porto Santo Stefano, the route takes you along a picturesque cycling path that repurposes the tunnels of the old railway. From Porto Santo Stefano, the trail follows the Via Panoramica, marked by rolling hills and breathtaking sea views, eventually reaching Porto Ercole. For a shorter route, a small detour allows you to return directly to Porto Santo Stefano.
